Position Overview:
The Institute for the Performing Arts (IPA) is looking for part/full time Performing Arts or Visual Arts Teachers who combines the ability to motivate and educate, to develop academic as well as character skills, and to make the student's education relevant both now and for the future.
The Instructor may choose their course offerings, as long as it involves a variety of performing or visual arts, to include but not limited to Voice Instruction, Musical Instruments, Performance Theatre, Musical Theatre, Acting, Stage Combat, Audio or Video Production, Music Marketing, Visual Effects, Prop Making, Makeup, Special EFX with Makeup including Prosthetics and Character/Creature Development, Production IT, Rigging, Music Management, Production Management, Music Theory, History of Music, Production Design, Directing, Producing, Costuming & Design, Lighting Design and/or Production, Voice-over Acting, Dance/Movement and so much MORE!
The Teacher may lead and coordinate performances throughout their tenure with the Institute if they so desire. Classes you create can be one day workshops, one week classes, however long you create it for and at any time of day or evening you choose your class(es) to be. All curriculum must be approved by the IPA Director before a schedule can be made and classes may start. Offer one type of class just once or multiple times per year. Offer different levels of your class with a series of classes over a period of time. You choose your length and information of class and in-depth of information taught (speak to the school's Director for more information). At the end of each class and as long as the student follows all guidelines and passes your class, they receive a certified certificate of completion from the IPA with professional accreditation of taking that course.
Duties and Responsibilities:
~ Teaching students in a high-quality, exciting & engaging way
~ Developing, Providing then Teaching a rigorous curriculum
~ Constantly assessing student progress, and communicating results to families and colleagues
~ Modeling the school’s values in all communications with students, families and staff
~ Committing to constant professional and personal growth through working closely as part of a team of Instructors
~ Providing individual or small group instruction for students who need additional assistance.

~ A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture
~ A strong desire to become a better teacher
~ Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of traditionally underserved students
~ Teaching experience within the field of what you will be teaching
